Personal Care

Why Personal Care

Personal Care is a comprehensive service for you if you need help with everyday tasks. Personal care is a regulated activity, which means any aspect of personal care services are required to be registered and are inspected and rated.

These services include, but are not limited to;

Assisting clients with their personal hygiene – personal hygiene are washing, bathing, brushing of teeth, cutting of nails, continence care etc.

Assistance with dressing – this includes helping clients to get dressed, choosing appropriate clothing or to give full support in dressing or just helping with socks or surgical stockings.

Support with medication – we can support with full administration of medication, prompting (or reminding) medication where appropriate and safe to do. We can also support with collection and ordering of prescribed medication. We can provide the support you need even if you just require support to open medication.

Assistance with meals – we can support with preparing foods at any level. Support with helping to eat can also be included.

Advice and encouragement – we also offer  vital emotional and psychological support that you may need.

Benefits of our Personal Care Plan

In getting to know you as a person, our personal care plan will outline your likes and dislikes, the hygiene or beauty products you want to use and what – and who – you feel most comfortable with. Particular tasks, such as cutting nails, shaving and diabetic foot care, will always be outlined in your support plan with specific instructions for your carer.

Each carer is expertly trained to provide personal care in a way that is discreet and respectful of your personal boundaries. They undertake extensive training where they learn the importance of enabling your dignity and independence at all times.

Even though our carers are trained to provide all aspects of personal care, there may be some things you’d prefer to do for yourself. The carer will also give you space when you want it and encourage your independence wherever they can.
